I am from Rapid City, South Dakota. I currently go to school in Bozeman, Montana at Montana State University and am in my third year studying Cell Biology and Neuroscience with a minor in Global Health. I am on the pre-medicine track and hope to continue my education at medical school in the future to become a physician. Outside of school I love to hike and spend time outdoors, spend time with my friends and family, and watch movies. I am very excited for the opportunity to learn more about the world of healthcare as an AHEC scholar!

We are excited to have Maddy as an AHEC Scholar and appreciate the enthusiasm and knowledge she brings to our program! The AHEC Scholars program is designed for college-level health profession students interested in supplementing their education by gaining relevant knowledge and experiences in rural and underserved areas of SD. Program activities cover the following six Core Topics: Interprofessional Education, Behavioral Health Integration, Social Determinants of Health, Cultural Competency, Practice Transformation, and Current and Emerging Health Issues. Learn more about the program here.
